A group of 8 high school friends were reuniting after 30 years as tourists in the big city and 5 of them became casualties in what the news is calling a terrorist attack, that left 8 people total dead. The five men, all from Rosario, Argentina, died after a man drove a rental pickup truck onto a crowd bike path near the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan.
A dozen others were wounded.
Argentinian President Mauricio Macri tweeted he was “deeply moved by the tragic deaths of this afternoon in NY. We are at disposal of the relatives of Argentine victims.”

Reportedly, the suspect has been identified as Sayfullo Saipov, 29, according to two law enforcement sources. He was shot in the abdomen by police and is in custody. Saipov, meanwhile, was boasting to his interrogators about the attack, according to a criminal complaint filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan. Questioned at a New York hospital, he showed no remorse, “stated that he felt good about what he had done” and asked to be allowed to display the ISIS flag, according to the complaint. Sad.
